I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world; she is not only my wife, but my very best friend. Rebecca, my wife, is very caring, accepting and supportive of me and this business venture. I have two kids, Prince William and Princess Gracie; they are truly the light of my life. I work for the fire service as a Fire Equipment Operator and Paramedic, which is how we got started with GCS. As with most firefighters, we all have side jobs and businesses. This business decision came about over a discussion about the health and safety of today's firefighter. We as firefighters are at a higher health risk than ever before due to the exposure and build-up of dangerous contaminants found in a fire fighter's turnout gear. With that said, we realized that our kids are exposed to some of the same threats of blood borne pathogens and dangerous contaminants. Even locally we have experienced the harm, including illness and even death that can occur if the sanitizing of our children's athletic gear is not maintained. So, “Let us Take care of the Gear that takes care of you and your children”.

Tim Tomlinson
Vice President and co-owner of Gear Cleaning Solutions

Originally from Northern California, Tim holds a degree in Fire Technology and was formally a fireman for the San Luis Obispo County Fire department in Central California. Tim moved to the DFW area in 2001 at which time joined the Addison Fire Department as a Fire Fighter Paramedic. Partnered with Rick Johnson, Tim founded Gear Cleaning Solutions in May of 2007 with the intent of providing cleaning, repair, and inspection services of public safety garments such as fire gear. While initiating this venture, they became aware of the similar need in cleaning and maintaining sports equipment in the effort to protect athletes. Tim Currently resides in McKinney, Texas with his wife Brandy and beautiful new daughter Charlie.
